Parking at Christ Church

Christ Church is located in the Clifton Village (CV) Residents Parking Zone

The zone is divided into two halves bordered by Clifton Park, with different operating times as shown in the map below.

If you are coming to Christ Church for a weekday evening or any time on Saturday, you can can park for free in the blue half of the zone. We recommend parking in College Road where there is usually plenty of space.  There are no restrictions on Sundays.

During the hours of operation you may also use the Pay and Display bays around the church building.  These cost £2.50 per hour for a maximum of 3 hours (9am-5pm) or 4 hours (5pm-9pm) with the first 30 minutes free.  Mobile payments use the RingGo app.

To park for free you still need to get a ticket from one of the machines.  Please check the signs carefully as not all bays are Pay and Display.

Pay and Display bays are shown in purple or green on the map below:

Residents Parking Bays

If you are coming for longer, we have a limited number of parking permits which are available on a first-come-first-served basis at the office team's discretion. These must be collected from the Church Office in Linden Gate, displayed prominently in your car windscreen, and then returned to the office when you leave.  Permits may not be held overnight without prior approval from the office.  In the interest of fairness, and due to limited numbers, permits are not available to people coming for public events.

The nearest public car parks are:

  • West End Car Park, in Berkeley Place (postcode BS8 1EH).  Charges are £2.70 per hour up to 4 hours then £19.60 if over 4 hours. Christ Church is a 15 minute walk away.
  • Clifton Down Shopping Centre, accessed from Alma Road (BS8 2NN).  Charges start at £2.00 for one hour up to £15 for all day.  Christ Church is a 15 minute walk away.

There is a small driveway in Linden Gate for up to four cars.  This may only be used by those visiting the church office during office hours or when collecting/returning parking permits.

After 5pm or on Saturdays you may park in the blue area north of the church without a permit or Pay and Display ticket.

There are no restrictions on Sundays.

Planning your Visit

About Us Header

Christ Church is a great place to be – we’re a very diverse group of people who have one thing in common: we’ve encountered an extravagantly generous God who loves us unconditionally.

In Jesus, he’s welcomed and accepted us, made us part of his world-wide family, is healing our brokenness and restoring in us what it means to be truly human.

He calls us to be as generous to one another and to our world as he has been to us. The bible calls this culture of generous welcome and unconditional love ‘The Kingdom of God.’

This Kingdom is a place of transformation where earth begins to look like heaven, and we want to play our part in seeing it grow in our own lives, in Clifton, Bristol and beyond.

We know it’s impossible to achieve this ourselves and so we seek partnership with others who also look for the coming of God’s Kingdom.

Above all, we continually pursue a deeper love for, intimacy with, and understanding of Jesus – believing that this is the key to unlocking what is impossible for us.  Read on to learn more about our vision.

With so many different people making up our church family, and so many things going on, we’re confident there’s a place for everyone. Please come along and see for yourself - details of upcoming events can be found on our online calendar or at the Welcome Area in church, and if you don’t find what you’re looking for, please do ask.

We look forward to welcoming you whenever you visit.

Chris, Janet and Mark (leadership team)
