Money and Giving at Christ Church

Thank you for taking the time to visit our giving page

80% of our income at Christ Church comes from the regular giving of the church family, together with the tax we can reclaim from HMRC under the Gift Aid scheme.

Most church members choose give regularly (usually monthly) and this regular income helps the church leadership to plan for the coming year.  If this doesn't suit you, you can make a one-off gift.

We encourage you to read the information on this page and then prayerfully ask God how he is prompting you to respond.

Once you have decided, there are lots of different ways you can make your gift and this page will guide you to the most appropriate way for you.

If you have any questions on money and giving at Christ Church, please contact our Giving Administrator or the Church Office on 0117 973 6524 or via email.

‘For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.’

Our Approach to Giving

We believe that giving is primarily part of our worship, and an outworking of our discipleship. The bible is very clear that the way we use our money matters deeply to God, and is a means by which we are called to bless individuals, cities and nations.

Everything we give – whether time, gifts, or money – is in response to what we’ve been given in and by Jesus, in whom we meet an extravagantly generous God who loves us unconditionally. We give our best back to him so that, through his church, his Kingdom brings heaven’s justice, mercy, goodness, healing, and restoration to earth. In return, God promises to bless us with all we need to live lives of generosity.

You can read more about our approach to giving in our Guide to Supporting Christ Church Financially or by watching a talk given by Paul Langham, our vicar, in September 2018.
