Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

We do hope you had a lovely Christmas. Christmas at Christ Church was fantastic and we are so grateful to all of you who worked so hard to make our Christmas services and events go so well. As usual, we will be reviewing Christmas and learning lessons for next year, so we would love to hear from you if you have feedback (both positive and negative) about any aspect of our Christmas services. Please email Mark Parsons.

The Big Christmas Clear Up!

If you are free tomorrow, anytime between 9am and 3pm, we need lots of help to clear up the church after Christmas. Just turn up. It will be lots of fun, there will be jobs for all abilities, and there will be oodles of cake!

The Spire Coffee Shop

We are so excited that The Spire Coffee Shop finally opens for business on Monday morning, 9th January, and will be open every morning from 9am-1pm except Wednesdays and Sundays.

  • The Grand Opening is on Saturday 28th January at 10am by our Mayor, Marvin Rees. Come along and enjoy special offers on hot drinks, free cake and activities for children.
  • Calling all bakers! If you would like to enter our very own CCC Cake Bake Off, to be judged by Marvin at the Grand Opening, please email the church office or see Gay Sawyer or Ginny O’Conor for details. All entries must come with a completed allergen form, which is available from them or from the InfoHub.
  • We are still needing a few more volunteers on a weekly or occasional basis, please email Karie Howard if you would like to help.

Kingdom Come: Bristol

Kingdom Come

Don’t forget that on Wednesday 18th January we are welcoming Kris Vallotton to Christ Church. Kris is the Senior Associate Leader of Bethel Church in Redding, CA, and on this day he will be sharing from his unique experience of pioneering as a church leader to help us explore what it looks like for God to transform a city and how we, both as individuals and a church can position ourselves to play a role in transforming our city and bringing the Kingdom of God to every sphere and realm of society. You can find more details of this day at www.ccweb.org.uk/kingdomcome and can book tickets for the whole day or just the evening session. Tickets are going fast so don’t miss out.

Praying for Christ Church

This coming Sunday, 8th Janiary, is our Prayer Sunday and each of our gatherings will have a particular prayer focus. Our next first Monday monthly prayer gathering is on 6th February.
